Dan Llywelyn Hall Exhibition, (27th August 2011 - 22nd October 2011)

Dan Llywelyn Hall was based on the set of the forthcoming feature film 'Resistance' based on Owen Sheers' internationally acclaimed novel. The film features Michael Sheen and Andrea Riseborough. The film was cast in the Border Country of Wales and scenes filmed extensively around the Wye Valley and Abergavenny.

As the cast and crew moved from location to location, Dan was embedded amongst the crew and made observational drawings directly from the scenes in front of him.

'As I moved along with the set I observed the interaction between cast and crew and the landscape they inhabited. The juxtaposition of the crew activity with the backdrop of the film made for a fascinating insight. I attempted to make a body of work that blurred the boundaries between the film scenes and the reality'

A series of over 30 paintings, prints and drawings will be displayed in the gallery. Owen Sheers will also be doing a book signing at Bookish from 4.30pm to coincide with the opening of the exhibition.

The fillm is due to be released late November this year.
