David Day
David Day was born in Ebbw Vale in 1941. He attended Ebbw Vale Grammar School, Newport College of Art and Leeds College of Art where he gained the National Degree in Design and Interior Design. After a successful career as a designer, David concentrated on watercolour painting. His works have been critically acclaimed for their colour, rendition, detail and subtlety. His formal training in design is reflected in many of his paintings. His great love of colour, form and design is obvious. His recent works in acrylics verge on the abstract, many contrasting man-made structures against a background of local landscapes.
